Corbin Elementary had our first Student-led Academic Showcase. This night was all about students walking their parents through work they had been completing at CES. My reading students showcased their unit over Early American Civilizations. They made a codex like the ancient Maya over central idea. Parents were given a sheet that had questions to ask their kids.
Students then answered the questions and taught the parents everything they knew about the Maya, Aztec, and Inca. ALL parents walked away with new knowledge. I loved this type of showcase. I have never seen my students from this angle. I got to sit-back and watch them teach others. It was truly inspiring!
