This week in my classroom were able to talk about various kentucky history founders. We discussed Daniel Boone who aided in the discovery of Knox County as well as a former president: Abraham Lincoln. In kindergarten kids get a small background of what past means and who people in history are, they are what shaped us and built us into the state and country we are today. My students had discussions about these famous people, while the teacher asked what they might of thought life was like back then when Daniel Boone was first discovering our county; what they think he might of seen or discovered. It was a great way to get the kids engaged and talking to one another, at the end a activity page was passed out and the kids enjoyed seeing Kentucky history on it.
